My Little Monkey!

Rick was home from work this afternoon when Ashlyn woke up from her nap. I suggested that he take the "little monkey outside & let her burn some energy" before it gets dark or the bugs get bad. I decided to get their dinner together & catch up on my blogging...should I have been surprised when I peeked out to check on them and found them eating bananas???

This morning I was guilty of turning my back for what seemed like 10 seconds...now I KNOW better!!!

The trail of Mommy's things that we are NOT supposed to play with....

While I was cleaning up the cards and things from my purse, my little bundle of joy continued on up the stairs. I started to get worried when things got quiet up there, so I went to see what was going on. This is how I found her...

Looking suspicious... do you think she will go back into the cabinet?

Shutting the door in my face so that I would quit saying "no, ma'am, come with me"!

Welcome to Chadwick's Park, or so it seemed this morning! Ash was playing with everything!!! I could not keep up with her. As frustrating as it seemed, we did both giggle every now and then...I just couldn't help it!!!

Charleston's Children's Museum

Need I say what we think of the Charleston Children's Museum???
Addison getting her shop on
My big BRAVE girl!!! Ashlyn walked all the way to get a drink for Addison's buggy! No hands and no crawling!!! After weeks and weeks of anticipation, I think we are there...she's a WALKER!!!

Playing on the mats.
Got'cha!!! I chased this one around for at least 30 minutes to get this picture! She was not giving in with a smile or sitting still!

Addison and Ashlyn playing at the "tea party" table.

Rick made it home from work pretty late on Monday. He was STUCK in the Bahamas for a couple of days with a broken plane...huh...can you really say the words "stuck" and "Bahamas" in the same sentence? Oh' this blog is about Ash...we gave her a golf set that night! It was really cute! Can't wait to see her and Rick out in the yard with their clubs!

Memorial Day was awesome! We spent the afternoon with Nana and Papa Chadwick. We all headed downtown around noon. We went to the Children's Museum for a couple of hours and then to lunch at Bubba Sly's Subs.

Nana was the cashier & Ash kind of understood what to do...we will work on the 'check out' part of shopping. I don't blame her, I hate the paying part, too!
Ashlyn figured things out pretty quickly! We just need to teach her how to count, as she was definitely not sticking to the 6 items or less rule! Oh well, she's only 1 right? What rules?

Nana teaching Ash how to put her groceries in the cart!

I can do it!!! I love these tunnels and slides!
Uncle Matthew!!! I guess that's what we get for always picking on you for checking yourself out in every mirror! Now, we cannot get her away from them!!!

Kiss, kiss, kiss!
Ashlyn stops and smooches this mirror every time she goes through the tunnels. I think we are going to be in BIG trouble when little "SASSY" gets a bit older!
(Thanks for the nickname Papa!)

Nana and Papa Chadwick playing dolls with Ashlyn.
We recently decided to join the local Children's Museum. So far, it has been a BIG hit! We have been down there three times in the past week & Ash seems to like it more and more each time. It all started last Friday when Brittany and Lincoln met us there to hang out. The kids loved it & I decided we were sold on the family membership!

Rain, Rain, Go Away! Ashlyn Ann wants to play!!!

"I do not want to leave until we check EVERYTHING out, OK, DEAL!"
Addy, 15 months..."catch me if you can."
Ready or not, here we come!
Ashlyn goes on the slide by herself now! I cannot believe how fearless she is becoming!!!

Yesterday, the sun decided to shine for a bit, so Ashlyn and I met up with Kim and Addison over at Alhambra Park. It was a great time. The girls were all over the place! Kim and I got to catch up & then we all went to Boulevard Diner for lunch. It was a perfect morning. We had not been able to have a play date in several weeks, so we missed our friends.

Oh oh oh, the SWEETEST thing!!!

"I know you! Happy belated Birthday! Yea, you, too!"

Friends from the start!

Madilyn and Ashlyn take a break from playing...
So, after going to the Little Gym for about 7 months or so, we had the most interesting little friend join our class! I started talking to her Mommy & discovered that the girls shared the same birthday. The conversation kept going and it only took a couple of minutes for me to say WOW!!!

Apparently, our new little discovery is Madilyn Ann, who was born on April 18, at St. Francis Hospital in room 4! For those that need a refresher, Ashlyn Ann was born April 18, at St. Francis in room 5!!! They were in the nursery together!!!

Over the last couple of months, Madilyn and Ashlyn have played together and it has really been neat to watch them. They seem to always find each other within the group. (We are in the Birds class now. There are about 20 kids instead of 9) I think they have a very special bond!

Goooooo Rivergogs!

Take me out to the ball game.....Root, root, root for the home team!!!

Watching the game...she was not to crazy about her first hot dog experience, however, the huge pretzels were very tasty! She liked the Dippin' Dots, too. Yes, we filled her with good ol' game day food, so what, she was HAPPY!!!
I can walk! Ashlyn started taking steps the day before we went to the game. Rick and I were so excited!!! We wanted her to keep going and going, but she would get tired and have to sit down. We gave it a break & then she decided to give it a try again on the way to the Joe.
Last week we took Ash to her 1st baseball game. We decided that going to a Riverdogs game would be perfect, as she will be able to go year after year. They played Greenville...the home team won!!!

Lincoln Turns 1 !!!

The Birthday Boy...Yea for Lincoln!
Rick got in the pool with Ash. She really enjoyed the float that Avery gave her. They seemed to have a good time, well, until they started shivering! The water isn't quite warm yet!
The Porcaros, Taylors and Morrisons
The Little People Table! They just could not get enough! However, I am thankful that their was a SEPARATE big people table, as there was definitely some sharing and double dippin' and food replacement going on here...YUMMMMMMMY!
We have been busy with Birthdays this month. Last weekend we headed over to Seaside Farms to help Ash's buddy from the Little Gym celebrate his first birthday. It was a robot and pool party.

Weekend at Nana's!

LIFE IS GOOD!!! I'm a happy girl.....I like to think that Nana and Papa were explaining to Ash that she is a true Carolina Girl & that she will be spending all of her summers at the beach.
I like this beach business...
Ashlyn's first attempt at making a sandcastle!
Playing at the Chadwick's before they hit the beach!
Papa and Nana took Ash for her first walk across the bridge.
Rick and I headed to Ohio for a weekend to go to a friend's wedding. Meme came to help with Ashlyn on Thursday and Friday. They played all day & around 7:00, Nana and Papa picked Ash up to go stay a couple of days with them. They stayed busy with her & it seems that everyone had a wonderful time!

Back Trackin'

Yes, they are sitting in each other's laps! Determined to hit all of the sales and stores in Town Center (the guys had already given up and gone home), we managed to fit a stroller, Sissy and Curt's luggage, a toddler car seat, myself, Aunt Vera, Aunt Sissy, Shannon, and Terri all in one SMALL SUV!!! Oh...maybe a couple of shopping bags with some minor purchases, too, however I am not at liberty to discuss all information...Bottom line, Never underestimate the power of the SHOPPING BAZEMORE LADIES!!!
Yipppppppy! Catch me Somebody!!!
Aunt Sissy, Uncle Curt & Ash at the Isle of Palms County Park.
After going to the beach for the afternoon, what else could you want... FRESH FRIED SEAFOOD, but of course!!
Ash & Aidan at dinner
So, the week before Ashlyn's birthday was the Cooper River Bridge Run...we had family in town from Georgia. We had a pretty busy schedule while they were here, but as usual, we had a great time! We went to the beach, out to dinner, shopping...you name it!

Birthday continued.........

Our next door neighbor, Alli, and our neighbors on the other side of Alli, Ben and Darlene.
Cara, Ashlyn & Alli on the jump castle.
I believe I can fly....
Daddy liked my cake, too!
Sharing with Papa...I thought he looked really hungry!!!
Bryan, Aunt Vera & Shannon
Aidan, Ash & Aunt Sissy
OK, so for those who were at Ash's party, I am sure you remember me looking for my camera like a MAD woman. For those who were unable to join us, I did misplace my camera about midpoint....only to discover (much later) that I left it at the BBQ pit, so Rick picked it up and put it in his pocket! I have collected a few more pictures from the family that I would like to share.
