The Blizzard of 2010 - In Charleston, SC - Hahaha

OK, so the rumor was that we were going to be getting some snow...I started to believe it, only when the Weather Channel was in agreement with the local channels. Schools were out early...we waited! Finally, around 8 we saw some flurries. I took Ash out on the porch & she did not know what to think. All she could say was "cold..wet!" Devin and Kellie came over to watch it fall with us.

After about an hour, we actually had snow on the ground. Yea!!! Ash's first snow! I had not seen this much snow in Charleston since 1989, the same year that Hugo hit SC. (My one and only white Christmas) It was awesome! I hear that Mt. P had some snow back in 1999, but I was in Clemson then. Anyway, it was enough to make chaos in the neighborhood!

The neighbors were getting me with snow...from both sides, which seems a bit unfair. (Where are you Rick?) It was fun & Ash got used to it pretty quickly!

I think I offered money to the kids if they would get Devin...I don't remember!
Bono was LOVIN' it!

Ash made Kellie walk around and around the yard!
"Pur tee"
After a couple of hours of playing, Ms. Hannah brought us a pizza. We had a fun night & ended it by watching "Ice Age." It could have been perfect...if only Rick were here!
The morning came early, as Ashlyn was up by 7:30. (This PROVES the theory that kids do NOT sleep longer if you let them stay up really late!) We immediately opened the door & she was squealing like crazy!

Looking across the yard into the street!

Our House!
It took Ashlyn a couple of minutes to get used to walking in the snow!

"Come on Mommy"
Devin was next door building a snowman. It quickly caught our attention!
Yes, he is wearing a Tennessee hat! We smiled just to be polite! Ha ha
I looked everywhere for a GA hat, or anything for that matter, and had no luck.
After eating and stomping some snow, Ashlyn decided to clean the trees. I have no idea why, but she insisted on wiping the snow off of all of the trees that she could reach. She just kept screaming "off!" Once she gets an idea in her little noggin, there is NO changing her mind. I do not know if it is just Ashlyn's "sas-I-tude" ,or if it is a typical two's thing.
Either way, prayers are greatly appreciated!

Valentine's Day Party at HIS School

Mom & Dad, I think you are cool!
Please come to a PARTY at my school!
Wednesday, we had a Valentine's Day party in our class. Ashlyn stayed home this week (another ear infection, ugh!)but, Mimi was nice enough to stay with her, and bring her by for the party! It was too cute to watch the kids.
They were so excited & they even exchanged cards and candy!
Ash & her class...I cannot list their names on here, but ask her & she can tell you everyone and her teachers!!!
Waiting for the party to start. The kids have grown up so much since August! It makes me so proud to see them sit quietly and say the blessing! I do not know what I am going to do when the year is over & they all move up to Cara & Jennifer's class. I think I am going to be the one with separation anxiety!

The BEAUTIFUL flowers and candy that the class brought for Ms. Hannah and I. We are so blessed to have these children in our lives. They are perfect!
Ashlyn loves babies! She could not get enough of her friend's baby brother.
As Ashlyn would say, "chicken buga fries!" The kids enjoyed Chick-fil-A before the sweets!

Then we had delicious CUPCAKES!!!

Enjoying the goodies!

My silly monkey!

"Yum, yum, YUMMY"....."MOOR"

The Little Gym

Ashlyn has been going to The Little Gym since she was 4 months old. Rick and I both enjoy taking her each week & are amazed to see how much she has learned & grown. She just finished her third class, The Big Beasts.
The Award Ceremony

The Gold Medal Goes To......Ashlyn!

(OK, so everyone gets the same medal...)
Help ME Daddy!
After many, many attempts, Ash actually held on by herself for a few seconds!!!
Big smiles...Ashlyn's favorite teacher, Valerie! She squeals when she sees her in class!
Mini Me! Mommy & Me!
Just a picture to show you Ashlyn's hair...a gift from Rick, as I was a bald child!

Girly Girl!

Serving up some cookies!
First pony tail...I could just eat her up!!!
"Cheezeeeee"
Just Happy!
Sunday Night Pedicure! (A MUST!)
Showing Daddy that she knows all the movements to "If You Are Happy and You Know It!" Rick still trims Ashlyn's nails for her. He started when she was a baby (I was SO scared I would cut her). She loves it. She will sit still and watch. If I try, she says, "No...Daddy!"

Family Day at the Charleston Aquarium

"Let's go, come on, hurry up you guys, and follow MEEEE!"
I have NO idea what Rick said or did to get her so excited!
So Happy Together!
"Sharks & fish...I want to see them all!"
"Feed her to the sharks...No way!"
My two favorite people in the whole world! God truly BLESSED me when he gave me Rick and Ashlyn!
Ash driving the shrimp boat...Reminded me of when I was a child & pretended to drive Dad's shrimp boat. I would give anything for Ash to be able to see the boats and dock that I grew up on at Edisto. Some of it is still there & I have taken her to see it, but it is just not the same, at all. I wish she could fish, talk to Mama, see the geese, jump off the dock.....
Checking out the penguins. YES, they were all named Mumble & YES, we did "Happy Feet" a couple of times. It was GREAT!!!
Sweetness!

Christmas...the final celebration!

Rick made it home New Year's Eve. We went to Sylvania New Year's Day. We had a "couch potato" day on the second. Then...SANTA came & we celebrated Christmas on the 3rd. It was awesome. Ashlyn was so excited when she came downstairs and saw all of her toys. We had to take a breakfast break, nap, and well, we didn't get to the stockings until the 4th!!!
It was the best day! We love you Rick & are so proud of all that you do!!!
"Ooooh Prize!"
Helping Daddy open presents!

SOOO HAPPY!!! DADDY IS HOME!!!

"Cu Lar"
"How did Santa know that I love to cook?"
"See ya later high chair...I have a BIG girl table!" "Booots, booots, booots!!!" I think Rick and I could have screamed if we heard "booots" one more time. We love you Ash! I brought Ash a pair of cowgirl boots back from San Antonio. They did not fit exactly right, but she played in them anyway!
