Big Girl Salon!

I have always taken Ashlyn to a children's salon to get her hair cuts. The last few visits were kind of disappointing...not the best cut & not the nicest staff. I decided to try something new & took her to the salon that I go to. Success!!! She had such a wonderful time & sat quietly while I had my cut & color, too! It turned out to be a fun date!

Dr. Randy

Dr. Randy, the local children's dentist, came to visit Ashlyn's class. His staff told stories and explained why it is important to brush your teeth. Ashlyn seemed OK with the idea, so I decided to make her an appointment. With much surprise, it was a very cool experience!

Dr. Randy had an alligator that the patients could practice flossing and brushing. There were all sorts of cool things to check out in the room, which was shared with 3 other kids, so everyone could watch each other!

Ashlyn hopped up in the chair and had her teeth cleaned without any fear! I was so proud of her! On the way out of the office she even said, "That was funny!"

Celebrating Easter!

We began the Easter season with a party at school. The children enjoyed special treats from home & made several special crafts. The Turtle Pond had an egg hunt on the playground.

Heading out to collect some eggs.
Eggs were everywhere!

Each child was to get 8 eggs. Ashlyn had over 20 in her basket. I explained that she would have to share with the others. She smiled and replied, "OK Mommy". I was quite proud. During car line, after school, I noticed a huge pile of candy wrappers falling out of her pocket. I asked her where she got it all. She answered, "I ate all the candy all gone from all of the eggs before I gave them to all of the kids!" Yep, that's my girl!

Ms. Kelly and I with the Turtle Pond

On Saturday, we headed over to the church to hunt eggs and play games. Ashlyn was a little bit afraid of the bunny, but as soon as Daddy was on the scene, things were just fine!

Waiting.......

Time to look for the eggs!!They were everywhere!

Playing games & trying to win MORE candy!

This was the first year that Rick was able to be home with us for Easter! We were so happy & decided to dye eggs for the first time! We bought this spinner that made the eggs look tye-dyed. It was pretty cool!

So proud of our final creations! Checking out the basket from the Easter bunny!

We were so excited to have Rick with us to go to the Boone Hall service. It has been a tradition every year since Ash was born. The morning was perfect & we could not have had better weather. The service & music were awesome, as always!

Ashlyn checking out the view & dancing for us!

Sweet girl!

After the service, we headed home to have brunch with Meme & Popa. It was a wonderful time! Ashlyn loved that everyone had to eat one of her eggs!

Family Day at the Air Show!

The Charleston Air Show was in back in April. Ashlyn and I went on Friday, which was family day. We took Rick lunch & ate at his office. Then we headed out to see the planes. Ashlyn had not been on the flight line since she was 1, so it was pretty exciting!!!

Checking out the cockpit of a German plane. Daddy had pink ear plugs that were very "por-tan-it" to wear!

Sitting with Daddy & watching the Thunderbirds! What a great day!!!
