Best Buds!

We met many nice people while we were in Altus. Some were friends from the past that now have families, and some were new folks. Ashlyn met one little friend that she decided was extra special. His name was Carson. They hit it off from the start & had such a great time together.
Ashlyn and Carson at the park. Too cool for school! They liked to do everything the same, and were surprisingly good at sharing with one another!
An afternoon game of "Get You, Me!" (aka-chase)

In the afternoons, they loved to play in the sand box outside of Carson's room. It had some shade & Carson's Mom always had popcicles!
T-ball! A first for Ashlyn, but she would try anything that Carson did. We enjoyed watching them play. Sometimes it got a bit dangerous, as bats and balls were often going through the air...in all directions!
Hopefully our paths will cross again, and Ashlyn and Carson will get to hang out. It was so sweet to see them. Ash would wake up each day and ask, "I gon'na play with boy?"
After we left Oklahoma, Steven and Laura set us a text saying that Carson had run down the sidewalk, around the corner, and was knocking on our old door. (we had sidewalk chalk out front, so he knew which one to go to) ADORABLE!!!

No Gutter Balls PLEASE!!!

Something NEW!!!

Rick and I had never thought of taking Ashlyn bowling, so when Steven, Laura, and Carson invited us to join them, we could not resist. It turned out to be a blast!

Ashlyn getting ready for her first attempt.
(Don't worry, she had daddy there to help!)

"What I do, Daddy?"
"Yea!!!"

"Mommy play, too!" Steven and Carson

Little pro!

"I so proud of you...and ME!"
"That was GREAT! I will walk you home!"

Celia turns 3!

Princess Party at Celia's in Cresent, Ok
We were lucky enough to be in Oklahoma during Celia's birthday party. Rick, Ash, and I drove over and spent Sunday with Celia, Matthew, Shelley, and Shelley's family. Sharing cake with Daddy, and a friend!

Ashlyn's first pinata. She did NOT waist any time getting to the floor to collect her bag of goodies! She was polite, though, as she said "come on guys" to the other children. A huge improvement from her normal "dat mine!"

Aunt Dee and Uncle Fred surprised Celia and drove in from SC for her birthday. (She is their only granddaughter) Ashlyn could not figure out how they were in Oklahoma, but was excited to play with them. She kept reminding me that they were Popa's "bruder & sista". Aunt Dee jumped with the girls in the castle until it started to rain.
(I bet she was hoping for a break...ha ha)
Chessy and Uncle Fred entertained the girls while we waited out the rain. Celia was a little hesitant to share her Granddaddy, but they worked it all out! Too cute!

Altus Speedway!

We really did do everything under the sun on our road trip, including watch a race. I was not sure what Ashlyn would think. At first, she did not like the noise, but it only took a couple of minutes for her to start running around. I wish I had some pictures to share of the cars. I had never seen anything quite like them. Definitely owned and operated...locally...to say the least! Brandon, Alex, and Ashlyn watching the cars go "zoom, zoom, and boom!"
